Watson Fothergill Walk Deco in the Details – Part 2

Starting and ending with the sculptures at T. Cecil Howitt’s Council House, this walk explores the development of chain stores like Montague Burton, The Tailor of Taste, F.W. Woolworth and Marks & Spencer. It also investigates role of concrete in industrial buildings in Nottingham, the growth of car ownership in the 1930s and the impact of this change on the city’s architecture.
